What is Trioday Tablet?
Trioday tablet is an antiretroviral therapy (ART) medication that lowers your viral load, fights infections and limits the chances of transmitting HIV. It boosts your immunity by increasing the white blood cell count in your blood which in turn helps your body fight infections.
Like any PrEP medication, Trioday Tablet helps the body produce antibodies, which help your body to fight germs and viruses.The tenofovir, lamivudine and efavirenz found in Trioday block the enzyme needed by the virus to replicate. If used correctly, Trioday can eliminate the risk of contracting the virus after exposure.
How does Trioday tablet work?
HIV is a retrovirus that breaks down your immune system over a period of time by multiplying. Trioday tablets prevent the spread of HIV by stopping the virus from multiplying while also helping to increase your white blood cell count. Trioday tablet is an antiretroviral that primarily comprises three antiviral medications - lamivudine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate and efavirenz.
Although Trioday tablets cannot remove HIV from the body, it helps keep the immune system strong enough to fend off other infections. A clinical study found that PrEP medications like Trioday protect against HIV-1 infection in both men and women.
How effective is Trioday tablet?
It is important to follow the doctor's prescription and instructions while taking Trioday for it to work properly.
According to a study, PrEP medications like Trioday tablets are 92% effective when used every day. PrEP can be 44% to 92% effective at combating HIV. However, the effectiveness can vary if you don’t follow your doctor’s instructions in full detail.

How to take Trioday tablet
To get the most out of Trioday tablet:
- Take it on an empty stomach
- Make sure you take all your doses at the same time
- Do not stop taking the medication without consulting with your doctor
How long does it take for Trioday tablet to work?
To be relatively safe from the spread of HIV, you must take Trioday Tablets for at least a minimum of seven days before engaging in receptive anal sex. With vaginal sex, it takes at least twenty days of daily use for it to be effective.
What if I miss a dose of Trioday tablet?
Don’t panic if you miss a dose or forget to take it at the right time. If it’s within twelve hours of your usual time, take the tablet with food, as soon as you remember. If it’s been longer than twelve hours, skip the dose and carry on as normal the next day.
