Oflox is a prescription medicine used to treat eye infections like bacterial conjunctivitis. It is applied directly to affected eyes as drops.
Conjunctivitis is a commonly occurring eye infection that can be either viral or bacterial. An infection might also occur if you do not wash your hands after inserting or removing your contact lenses. Bacteria cause many ocular illnesses across the world and can harm your eyes if left untreated.
Although your symptoms may improve without treatment, controlling bacterial strains with antibiotics can relieve or eliminate your symptoms and stop them worsening.
Conjunctivitis can be caused by viral infections and does not always require treatment. Bacterial infections occur when specific bacteria are able to flourish in or near your eye. Haemophilus influenzae, streptococcus pneumoniae, and staphylococcus aureus are the three most prevalent bacteria that cause these infections.
Unlike other types of infections which may be difficult to figure out, the symptoms of bacterial eye infection are pretty noticeable. Some of these symptoms include red eyes along with a discharge.
Oflox's primary active ingredient, ofloxacin, is antibacterial. When Oflox drops are applied directly to the eye, it kills the infection causing bacteria and helps clear the infection within seven to ten days.
Oflox eye drops contain ofloxacin, an antibiotic at a strength of 0.3% w/v. These drops are used to treat different bacterial eye infections. Doctors often recommend this strength for specific eye infections.
How much and how frequently you use it should be exactly as your doctor tells you. Follow your doctor's instructions to use the medication safely and make sure it works well.

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind when using Oflox eye drops:
Because ofloxacin (Oflox) is administered directly to the site of the eye infection or corneal ulcer, it starts to work immediately. Your symptoms should usually get better within 10 days of using Oflox eye drops. Do not stop using the drops before consulting with your doctor as this could lead to a risk of reinfection.
If you’ve accidentally used more Oflox drops than recommended, rinse your eye(s) with clean water and wait until your next dosage is due before applying them again.
Even if you've missed a dosage, there's no need to double your dose. Continue with your dosage regimen as directed by your doctor.
