Dronis 30 is a type of combination birth control pill that is taken orally, and is used to prevent pregnancy. Together, the two hormones in the pill – drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol – work by preventing the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation) and also by thickening the cervical mucus, which makes it difficult for the sperm to reach the egg.
Dronis 30 comes in a pack of 21 pills which you are supposed to take every day following which, you are supposed to go pill free for the next seven days.
Dronis 30 consists of two hormones. Together, these two hormones – ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone – work to provide highly effective contraception by preventing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus, and altering the lining of the uterus (all of which make it difficult for fertilization and pregnancy to occur).
Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic form of estrogen, and it works by suppressing the release of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in the body. This prevents an egg from being released and stopping ovulation altogether.
Drospirenone, on the other hand, is a synthetic form of progesterone. So in the rare case that an egg does get released while taking Dronis 30, drospirenone works by thickening the cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg. Additionally, it can also alter the lining of the uterus, making it difficult for the embryo to implant in case fertilization does occur.
Studies have found that if you take them perfectly, combined pills like Dronis 30 are 99% effective. But if you miss the pills or forget to take them at the same time everyday while you are on them, this efficiency can be reduced to 93% .
It is always good to chat with your doctor in case you have any doubts while using Dronis 30 to ensure that you are properly protected against any chance of getting pregnant.

Here are a few instructions to keep in mind while taking Dronis 30:
You could experience some side effects like nausea, headache, and dizziness when you begin taking the pill. Read the information leaflet that comes within the package to know about all the side effects. Keep your doctor informed if any of these side effects seem to be serious.
In case it slips your mind to take the pill, take the missed pill without delay once you remember it, even if it means taking two pills in a day. It is important to use a backup form of contraception like condoms for the next seven days after missing a pill or taking it late.
