What is Efil?
Efil belongs to a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors. Its active ingredient tadalafil encourages blood flow to the vessels in the penis and makes it easier to get and maintain an erection. In clinical trials for the drug, 81% of men saw that it improved their erections.[1]
Efil only works if you’re sexually aroused and needs to be taken 30 minutes before you engage in sexual activity.
Efil is also used to treat benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH).
Efil is a branded medication and is also available as Tfil, Tadaflow, Modula, Tazzle 5, Fulflo, Tadaflo 5, Tadpro 5, Yaw 5 and Tadasure. These medications are all similar and contain the same active ingredients. The tablets and packaging may vary in appearance due to branding.
How does Efil work?
During an erection, blood flow to the penis increases and fills the muscle tissue found there. An enzyme called PDE5 is produced to help control the blood flow and prevent too much from entering the vessels. In those with erectile dysfunction, the vessels in the tissues don’t naturally allow the blood flow in and so the production of PDE5 restricts the amount of blood that flows into the vessel. PDE5 inhibitors like Efil limit the production of PDE5 and allow the vessels to relax and allow more blood into the tissue. This relaxation of the tissue and increased blood flow is what helps you to get and maintain an erection.
Efil only works if there’s an increased flow of blood to the penis to begin with. For this reason, you need to be sexually aroused for it to work. When taken 30 minutes before sexual activity, Efil can result in firmer and longer lasting erections.
What doses of Efil are there?
Efil comes in three dosage sizes: 2.5mg, 5mg and 10mg.
After talking to you about your health, lifestyle and medical history, your doctor will advise you about the dose you should start with. When monitoring your progress and talking to you about your experiences, they may suggest an increased or decreased dose for you to take as you continue your treatment.
In some cases, Efil may not be effective or work in the way that you need it to. If this is the case, your doctor will be able to talk to you about alternative treatment options. It can take a period of trial and error before you find the treatment that is most suited to you, and your doctor will support you to find the treatment that works best for you.
