Indomathes is a gout treatment. Gout is a type of arthritis that happens when there's a build-up of a substance called uric acid in the body, leading to the formation of sharp crystals in the joints. These crystals cause sudden and severe pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness in the affected joint, most commonly in the big toe.
Indomathes contains indomethacin — a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by reducing inflammation and providing relief from the intense pain caused by gout flare-ups.
NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like Indomathes work for gout by calming down the inflammation and reducing the pain caused by the uric acid crystals that build up in your joints.
When you have a gout attack, these crystals cause a lot of swelling, redness, and intense pain. Indomathes helps by blocking certain substances in your body that are responsible for making the area around the crystals swollen and painful. It can make you feel better during a gout flare-up, easing the discomfort and making it easier to move the affected joint.
Indomathes come in two strengths— 25mg and 75mg of indomethacin. Indomathes 75 mg tablets are made to slowly release the medication over time. When you take this capsule, 25 mg of the drug is released right away, and the remaining 50 mg is released slowly over about 12 hours. This slow release helps to keep the amount of the drug in your blood more steady, when compared to taking regular 25 mg capsules of Indomathes every 4 to 6 hours.
When scientists compared taking the 75 mg extended-release capsule once a day to taking the 25 mg capsule three times a day (every 6 hours), they found that the total amount of drug in the blood throughout the day was about the same.

Both Indomathes 25 mg and 75 mg are generally taken by mouth with a full glass of water, usually after food, to reduce the chance of a stomach upset.
Typically, Indomathes 25 is taken two to three times a day, depending on your condition and the severity of symptoms. Your doctor will determine the exact frequency and duration of use.
Indomethacin 75 mg, which is a sustained-release tablet treatment, releases the medication slowly over time. It's usually taken once daily, but again, your doctor will determine the specific dosage and frequency based on your medical condition.
Typically, Indomathes starts showing its effects within a week. However, in more severe cases, it might take up to two weeks or sometimes even longer before you notice an improvement.
The exact time it takes for Indomathes to work for your gout will depend on how bad your condition is, which can vary from person to person.
You should always take Indomathes as directed by your doctor. Try to take it at the same time every day to ensure that there is a consistent amount of the drug in your body. If you accidentally take more than the recommended dosage, contact your doctor immediately. If you forget to take your dose, do not double dose to make up for it.
