Medication that helps both allergies and asthma.
Montair contains the active ingredient montelukast, which is commonly used to treat asthma and allergies. It can be helpful when antihistamines alone haven’t provided relief.

Montair is a medication primarily used to treat asthma, but it’s also used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever). It is not typically the first-line treatment for allergies, but it can be useful if other allergy medications do not provide adequate relief, or if asthma symptoms (like shortnesss of breath or wheezing) are also present.
Clinical studies have found that montelukast (the active ingredient in Montair) has been successful at providing relief from seasonal allergic rhinitis while also being especially helpful for patients suffering from symptoms of asthma.
Montair contains montelukast, which kind of works like an immunosuppressant.
When our immune system detects allergens, it secretes chemicals known as leukotrienes. These chemicals produce swelling and constriction of our airways, as well as an increase in mucus production. This leads to issues such as allergies and asthma.
Montair contains montelukast. It is a leukotriene receptor antagonist, which means it prevents leukotriene receptors in your lungs from responding to leukotrienes. Not only will your allergies improve, but if you have asthma, Montair can help ease the unpleasant symptoms you get with this (like shortness of breath and chest tightness).
Montair comes in two doses of 5mg and 10mg. Montair 5mg comes in the form of chewable tablets and is typically prescribed to children suffering from allergies or asthma. The 10mg dose is the recommended dose for adults suffering from allergic rhinitis while also showing symptoms of asthma.

Montair 10mg pills must be taken once a day, every day. You should try to take it every day at the same time, ideally in the evening. There is no therapeutic reason why it should be given later in the day, yet in most clinical trials, Montair was administered in the evening.
Montair does not have to be taken with meals. Do not discontinue Montair without first consulting with our doctor.
Montair begins to work immediately and reaches peak levels in your system three hours after you take it. The leukotriene levels in your lungs will begin to decrease immediately, causing some relief but it may take up to a week for you to get the full advantages of Montair.
It's common to forget to take your medication sometimes, and it's not a big problem if you miss a dose. If you realise you forgot to take your medicine and it's been a while, don't panic. Just skip the missed dose and continue taking it as usual the next day.
To avoid forgetting often, you can set a daily alarm to remind you to take your medication at the same time every day.
If you accidentally took one or two extra Montair pills, any side effects you may experience will usually go away with time. However, if you start feeling unwell after taking the extra dosage, seek emergency medical help right away.
