Take the tablet after eating, swallowing it whole with water an hour or two before bedtime. It's important not to crush Meloset. Your doctor may prescribe it for several days or weeks.
If you're using Meloset for jet lag, the treatment duration is typically shorter and more flexible.
Meloset usually starts working quickly in about 20-40 minutes of taking it. The melatonin is at optimal levels in your body after an hour. Depending on the dose and formulation, the melatonin could be in your body for about 4-8 hours.
Always take Meloset 1-2 hours before bedtime and preferably at the same time everyday. If you forget to take Meloset and still have trouble sleeping, you can take the missed dose when you remember, as long as you haven't already fallen asleep. But don't take an extra dose to make up for the one you missed.
Taking too much Meloset usually just makes you feel drowsy and is generally not harmful. However, if you feel unwell after taking too much, reach out to your doctor.
