Fericip XT is a medication used to treat iron deficiency anaemia which occurs when your body doesn’t have a sufficient amount of iron to produce haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is an important substance of the red blood cells which helps them deliver oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and carbon dioxide from the tissues to the lungs.[1]
The active ingredients in Fericip XT—ferrous ascorbate and folic acid together improve the production of red blood cells and haemoglobin. They also promote healthy cell growth.
Fericip XT is a branded iron supplement which helps the body to recover from its iron deficiencies. There are other medications like Fericip XT like Feronia -XT, Orofer XT, Ferium XT, Ferox -XT, Irozorb and Imax XT which work in the same way, but may differ in appearance due to branding.
Iron is a natural mineral that the body needs in order to remain healthy. It’s used in the production of haemoglobin, an essential element of red blood cells which carry oxygen to the major organs in the body. It also helps the body to produce myoglobin, and this is needed to make cells that provide the muscles with oxygen.
The symptoms for iron deficiency anaemia may differ from person to person based on the cause and severity of their condition. Some people experience no symptoms while it can occur slowly or suddenly for others. If any symptoms occur, it’s important to get it treated as it may otherwise affect the body’s immune response.
The common signs and symptoms of iron deficiency include fatigue, pale skin and shortness of breath. It is also common to experience headaches and these can vary from mild to migraines. It is thought that this could be connected to a lack of dopamine. When you are deprived of iron you may also notice your hair becomes dry and brittle and falls out easily. Skin can also become dry. Your tongue and mouth may also feel dry and sore and there is a greater risk of mouth ulcers developing.
One of the most noticeable symptoms of low iron (anaemia) is fatigue and this occurs because there’s not enough oxygen getting to the organs and muscles.
When you take Fericip XT your body has more of the iron that it needs to be able to produce haemoglobin and this is most likely to prevent you from feeling fatigued.
Fericip is available in one dosage size with ferrous ascorbate 10mg/folic acid 1.5mg. It’s available as a tablet and also as a syrup.
You may find the tablet form easier to carry with you if you move around or travel a lot. Some people find tablets hard to take and the syrup form may suit them better. When you talk to a health professional about your health and taking Fericip XT, they will be able to advise you about the best form of the treatment to take.
