What is Candid gel?
Candid gel falls into the category of antifungal drugs called imidazoles. It is primarily used to address fungal skin conditions like athlete's foot, ringworm, fungal diaper rash, fungal sweat rash, and vaginal thrush.
Candid gel, when used for vaginal thrush, works by targeting and inhibiting the growth of the candida fungus, which is responsible for causing the infection.
How does Candid gel work?
Vaginal thrush, also known as vaginal yeast infection, is commonly caused by the candida fungus. Various factors can disrupt this balance and lead to an overgrowth of Candida, which can result in a yeast infection.
FThe fungal cell membranes are is essential for holding the candida fungus together. Clotrimazole works by changing the structure and function of these cell membranes, causing the fungus to die. This prevents it from multiplying and spreading, allowing your body to clear the infection.

How to use Candid gel
Ensure that the affected area is both clean and dry before applying the gel. After washing your hands, put the right amount of Candid gel onto your palm (your doctor will tell you how much to use).
Usually, though, a strip of cream roughly half a centimeter in size should be enough Gently apply the cream to the affected area and massage it in.
How long does it take for Candid gel to work?
The time it takes for Candid gel to treat your vaginal yeast infection can vary from person to person. Typically, most people feel better within a few days of starting treatment.
However, it's important to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve before the treatment is finished.
What should I do if I make a mistake when using Candid gel?
If you accidentally apply more than you should take a clean tissue or napkin and wipe off the excess.
