Candid-V3 is a vaginal pill that contains clotrimazole. Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication used to treat thrush. It's a one-tablet-at-a-time treatment that you place into your vagina to address your infection.

How do Candid-V3 tablets work?
Clotrimazole, the active component in Candid-V3 tablets, belongs to a class of antifungal medications known as azoles. It is used to treat a range of yeast and fungi-caused skin infections such as athlete's foot, ringworm, fungal nail, and thrush.
Clotrimazole is also available as an ointment. Both the vaginal gel and pills work by destroying the cell membrane barriers of the fungus. Clotrimazole also stops your cells from making ergosterol. Ergosterol is required for two things: fungal growth cell membrane maintenance. Candid-V3 tablets directly target the infection at its source and eliminate the fungus that causes thrush.

How to use Candid-V3 tablets
For best results, insert your tablet before bed — to avoid causing any disturbance to it. The tablets require moisture from your vagina to dissolve. This is why, using the applicator provided, put the vaginal pill as far as possible into your vagina. To make it simpler, consider reclining on your back with your legs bent upwards. Here are a few steps to keep in mind while using Candid-V3 tablets:
wash your hands before and after using the applicator
pull out the plunger end until it stops
place the tablet firmly into the opposite end and cautiously push the applicator as deeply as possible into your vagina, then slowly squeeze the plunger until it stops
remove the applicator, wash it thoroughly and then dab it dry with a clean cloth or tissue for the next use (if required)
You may notice a white discharge after using Candid-V3 tablets. This is a common side effect, and some women find that using a panty liner can be useful to help absorb it.
How effective are Candid-V3 tablets?
The symptoms of a thrush infection should go away in three to seven days. It takes three days for the medication to completely dissolve in your vagina. Physical symptoms such as itching, irritation, and discharge should improve. You can also apply a topical ointment like Candid V-gel 2%, to provide calming relief and help with the itching or pain.
What should I do if I make a mistake when using Candid-V3 tablets?
Candid-V3 tablets should only be inserted into the vagina. If you accidentally get it in your mouth or swallow it, seek immediate medical help.
You should avoid using the tablets during your period as this may make the tablets less effective. Tampons and other inter-vaginal items can also interfere with the effectiveness of Candid-V3.

Glenmark also manufactures clotrimazole vaginal gel that goes by the name of Candid-V gel. This may be easier for you to use, especially if you find vaginal tablets uncomfortable to use.
Can I use Candid-V3 tablets while I am pregnant?

Yes. Candid-V3 may be used during pregnancy and while you are breastfeeding.
