What is Telma AMH?
Telma AMH is a combined medication that uses three active ingredients to treat hypertension. It might be prescribed to lower your blood pressure if other treatments haven’t worked.
Having high blood pressure increases your chances of strokes and heart attacks, or developing coronary heart disease. Hypertension is sometimes referred to as a “silent killer” because symptoms often don’t appear until a medical crisis, like a heart attack, happens. How does Telma AMH work?
The three ingredients in Telma AMH all work in different ways to control hypertension.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker, also known as an ARB. They work by reducing the function of a hormone called angiotensin II. Angiotensin II constricts blood vessels, so by stopping this hormone from performing its usual action, ARBs help to lower blood pressure.
Amlodipine, another active ingredient in the tablets, also helps to widen blood vessels, but in a different way. It belongs to a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. They block calcium from entering your arteries, which allows your blood vessels to widen.
Telma AMH also contains a diuretic called hydrochlorothiazide. This is a thiazide diuretic, which helps remove excess fluid from your body. This means there is less fluid in your blood vessels, which helps your blood pressure come down.
What doses of Telma AMH are there?
Telma AMH is available in two doses: Telma-AMH 40 tablets and Telma-AMH 80 tablets.
The difference between the two strengths is the amount of telmisartan in them. The 40s contain 40mg, and the 80s contain 80mg. Both strengths contain 5mg of amlodipine and 12.5mg of hydrochlorothiazide.

How to take Telma AMH
Try to take Telma AMH as a clinician has advised you to. You should swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. Don’t crush, chew, or break the tablets.

Taking a double dose should be avoided, as it won’t compensate for the missed one, and may increase your risk of side effects.
