Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) helps to prevent heart attacks by preventing the formation of blood clots that cause the ineffective flow of blood in and out of the heart. It’s used both to prevent heart attacks and to treat their effects.
Rosuvastatin works in two ways. Firstly, it helps to lower ‘bad’ cholesterol that causes blood clots in the blood vessels that lead to heart attack. Secondly, it encourages the production of ‘good’ cholesterol that helps the liver to process cholesterol in the body.
